Beautiful France!

Ma-Grande-Tallie.com has launched a new plus size magazine, 'Beautiful France', which is the sister publication of 'Beautiful UK'. This will be the first "plus size" magazine to be launched in France. Beautiful France will be available for free in PDF format and for iPad in the Apple App store. Here's what Ma-Grande-Tallie.com had to say about their new magazine :

Cover Girl : Fluvia Lacerda

"Beautiful France is a very fashion forward publication, even though it is in French, there are a lot of spreads and features that many non French speakers will be able to comprehend. Our premiere issue will feature around 30 out of the 85 pages of fashion spreads, which is rare for a plus size magazine. We also have several features from our UK sister magazine that include, Adele, Beth Ditto and Fluvia Lacerda. We also have an exclusive interview with Stephanie Zwicky of Blog de Big Beauty and we have a never before seen fashion spread featuring America's Next Top Model winner Whitney Thompson."

I love that plus size magazines are taking off like rockets, and gaining popularity around the globe. I'm definitely looking forward to the future issues of 'Beautiful France', what about you? Do you read plus size magazines? Do you find them useful? Let me know! :)

Inspiration : Tess Munster

Tess Munter is one of my favourite plus size models to date. Not only is she unbelievably stunning and fierce, but she's an actual plus size model! Standing at 5'5 and wears a voluptuous size 18, she has curves for days and knows how to rock them!  Tess is mostly known for being the face of the US show 'Heavy'. She's the beauty editor for SKORCH magazine, and has been featured in INKED Aus/NZ for being a tattooed role model for women. And when she's not modelling, she works as a MUA and makes her own nifty accessories (which are now available to purchase!).

What I admire the most about Tess, is that she stays true to herself, and you can see that in every shoot or magazine spread that she does. She's inspired numerous amount of people, including myself and she is a rising star so keep your eyes on this beautiful lady! ;)

Tess modelling for the awesome plus size brand Domino Dollhouse!

Speaking of Domino Dollhouse, have you seen their new lookbook? Marie Denee over at the Curvy Fashionista has all the details!

Laura Wells for Cosmopolitan!

Laura Wells looks absolutely stunning in the September issue of Cosmopolitan Australia! Styled in a neutral palette with a pop of vibrant orange, Laura is sizzling in this fashion spread! I love every outfit featured, but my favourite has to be the last outfit, with the nude flared dress and the bright orange belt, fabulous!

Now, if only more plus size models were featured in fashion spreads on a regular basis, I would be completely happy!

Laura has also launched her official site, so be sure to check that out!

Enjoy the pics!

Emma Watson for US Vogue!

Emma Watson continues to capture our attention, with her stunning cover and editorial spread in US Vogue July 2011! Photographed by Mario Testino, and styled by Camilla Nickerson, Emma was dressed in Prada, Aquilano Rimondi, Tom Ford, Dolce & Gabbana, and Calvin Klein in 'Emma Watson's New Day'.

She is no longer the demure teenager who played in the Harry Potter films. She has transformed into a sophisticated, chic, and popular young woman, who definitely has a bright future ahead of her. And with her strong determination to move beyond her fictional role as 'Hermione  Granger', I'm sure we'll be seeing more of Miss Watson, in a different and bigger light than before.

What do you think of Emma's new look? Is she rocking the cover of Vogue?

Candice Huffine on Vogue Italia....

The gorgeous Candince Huffine talks to Damien Neva of Ford Models blog, about her Vogue Italia 2011 cover shoot with Steven Meisel. I love Candice's passion for plus-size modelling, and I find this video incredibly inspirational, because Candice (along with Tara Lynn, Marquita Pring, Robyn Lawley, and many more) are breaking the fashion industry's narrow moulding, of what a model should look like. These women prove, that you don't have to be a size 0 to be a successful model! I hope that other magazines follow suit, and start promoting a new 'curvier' body image, in a positive matter, because it's time for a revolution; a curvy revolution!

Toccara Jones rocks the new Evans Collection!

You've probably seen these pictures by now, but I can't get over, how amazing Toccara Jones looks in these pictures! The curvy beauty was shot in Miami, for the Fashion Q & A spread for Now magazine; which is currently on sale, so go get a copy!

Also, as many of you know, the Evans collection is now available online and in store. What do you think of the collection? I personally, think the collection is a step in the right direction, minimalism is on trend, along with florals and pleats, so I think Evans had the right idea. For their next collection (if they decide to do another one), I would love to see brighter colours, and more structured pieces, what about you?

If Evans were to do another premium collection, what would you like to see?

Enjoy the pics!

Watch out curvy fashionistas, there is a new magazine on the horizon! 'SLiNK' is a bi-monthly fashion and lifestyle magazine, dedicated to women sizes 14 +. SLiNK was created to fill the gap of media coverage for curvy women. What can you expect? :  A fresh and vibrant outlook on fashion, that captivates you with stunning editorials, interesting articles, and top fashion tips!

When does it launch? : SLiNK launched this month, and the first issue is already out, with Laura Wells as the cover model!

Fashion is Art....

Lately I've been feeling uninspired....

But when I look at fashion photography, I remember why I love fashion so much.  Fashion is more than just pretty clothes, it's art. Sketches, textures, layers, fabric, and patterns, are some of the things I learnt about in art & textile class, and these are some of the components that make up fashion.

Fashion is moving art, captured in a moment of time.

I came across this editorial, and was moved by the passion that exudes from these pictures. No words, let the photographs tell the story.
