As one of the trends for Spring 2010, patterned pants offer a whole new range for wardrobe options. Stripes, floral, graphic prints, abstract shapes, bold and colourful or go subtle and sophisticated. Almost anything goes for this trouser trend in 2010.
When it comes to the cut, the choice is once again yours. Go skinny like Balenciaga or free and flowing like Roberto Cavalli, both are strong styles. The likes of DKNY and Etro, are relaxed and they fall under the lounge wear category. The styles most likely to be seen on the streets are is a toned down take on the harem pants, relaxed at the hips and tapered at the ankles. Avoid boot cuts and flares, and fabrics that are too heavy. Light fabrics work better for Spring.
How to wear patterned pants :
- Be creative, don't be afraid to mix patterns. Clashing prints can give a sense of careless charm. Just don't over do it, or you'll end up looking like a clown.
- Bold prints will draw attention to your lower half, so if its not your best feature don't go for skinny cuts, and try relaxed fits instead.
- Pair loose fitting pants with either a figure hugging top or a baggier top half tucked in for a nonchalant look.
