Jessica Simpson to use "Real Women" for Fashion Week...

Jessica Simpson has declared that she'll be using "real women" to model her clothing line, for New York Fashion Week (NYFW)  in September.

Jessica said :
"We all obsess over looking like a perfect Barbie type, and that's not always what's beautiful. It's about making peace with yourself."

Jessica will be using her friends, who represent "real women" in "real sizes" for the runway. Not only will she be showcasing "real women", OneStopPlus will also be at NYFW, hosting the very first plus-size runway show.

Looks like curves are moving up in the fashion world, however,  I personally find the term "real women" very exclusive. I mean how do you define a "real woman", it seems the common defining feature is curves. However, a woman who is a size 10 can be considered curvy, so what does that say about a woman who is a size 28? What about the women, who don't really have a shape, and are straight up-and-down, are we saying they aren't real women?

I know what the term is trying to say, "real women", everyday people like you and me. The women who aren't apart of the industry, but I can't help but feel that this is another way of division, us vs. them, them vs.us.

If you are a woman, whether you're in the industry or not, you are a real woman! Everyone is beautiful, and it's time we put down the labels, and just embraced each other the way we are. Regardless of shape, size, race, age, weight, height, religion, sex, gender etc; we are all special and we should just be accepting of one another, and I know that's easier said than done, but we should at least try.

What are your thoughts on the term "Real Women"? Drop me a comment, and let me know!
