Inspiration : Ashley Graham

Here is the second installment of my Inspiration series.

Ashley Graham, has caused quite a stir in recent events. The infamous banned lingerie ad by Lane Bryant has sent the gossip windmill turning. Besides causing “controversy” Ashley is a successful plus - sized model, the curvaceous size 16 beauty has appeared in Vogue and Latina. She is well known and recognised for being a Lane Bryant model. Since the whole ad “scandal”, it has catapulted the voluptuous model into being a role model for all curvy women around the globe. I admire her strength and uninhibited acceptance of not only her curves, but other women's curves as well. So this post is dedicated to the wonderful Ashley Graham!

What are your views on the banned ad? Drop me a comment, and let me know!

I think she is GORGEOUS! I don't know if the media is anti-plus size or anti-full- figured women or not, because they're are 2 sides to every story, but beautiful is beautiful no matter what!

I agree, she is beautiful regardless of her size. If society can accept thinner women, then why can't they accept a fuller woman, more importantly why can't society accept that everyone is different. If everyone was the same, the world would be a pretty dull place.

I think that ban is a bunch of foolishness. I saw the banned commercial and yea, it was a little risque but so are plenty of other lingerie commercials.. including the playtex ones (with fuller figure women .. they are holding and caressing their breasts in the whole commercial). I think that the station (FOX of all stations.. cuz they play GLEE which is FILLED with sexual references) was being slightly "anti plus size" because if it wasnt a big deal.. why didnt they just play the commercial at another time slot. They didnt want to play it during American Idol because they said thats a family show.. paaahaaa! .. ok ok.. I wont continue to ramble.. BUT, you asked my opinion.

No no I agree! LOL! I don't think it was that risque at all, compared to Victoria Secrets etc, the commercial is like 30 seconds! To be honest I think they was being "anti-plus", because she doesn't fit the profile, compared to those Victoria Secret girls, they think she was showing too much skin, and that isn't the case! They don't want to promote plus size women in a healthy and postive view.

So.. I thought I would come back and comment.. I SAW THE COMMERCIAL LAST NIGHT... AND it was during American Idol, but it was in the 9p-10p time slot.. so I guess FOX thinks that its ok to show it during that time. Funny thing, Americal Idol also had Lady Gaga as one of their featured artist last night (enuff said about that, duuuh.. can you say ALL sexual references, lol) I still love the commercial.

And thanks for commenting on my blog.. and checking me out, although I havent had much to say in the last couple of days. I thought I was following you, but I went in again and hit follow.. so I will get all of your updates..

Well at least it was aired, society needs to start embracing curves, because we're not going any where lol! HA! Lady Gaga, is more sexual than the ad itself, "I wanna take a ride on your disco stick", "Bluffing with my muffin" etc, I could go on...

And thank you for commenting back, this is the reason why I blog, to have discussions :).
And no problem, your blog is amazing, I love the design of it! I look forward to more discussions with you :)

I love the ad and I'm baffled by the controversy. She's gorgeous.

@ Anika thank you my love :)

@ Steph, I love the ad, and she is stunning. In my opinion the media isn't ready for curvier women, they're to slow to accept that women are getting curvier and need to see women they can relate too.
